San Antonio
Located at the northern edge of the South Texas region, San Antonio is an historic city known for its Riverwalk, Alamo, and Spanish/Mexican/Tejano culture.
San Antonio is the County Seat of Bexar County, and has a population of 1.2 million.
The economy consists of four main segments — financial services, health care, national defense, and tourism.
Four military bases, Fort Sam Houston, Lackland AFB, Randolph AFB, and Brooks City Base, reflect San Antonio’s well known military heritage.
San Antonio boasts a large cultural community, with organizations and establishments such as the San Antonio Symphony, Majestic Theater, Institute of Texan Cultures, and the Marion Koogler McNay Art Museum.

New Braunfels
Just 30 miles northeast of San Antonio lies the German/American community of New Braunfels, the county seat of Comal County, with a population of 36,500.
New Braunfels retains its small town charm, and tourists come each year to visit the two rivers flowing through town and the Schlitterbahn Waterpark.
New Braunfels also hosts a popular annual festival known as Wurstfest.
